HealthcarePlatform Modernisation

From fragmented digital products to a more coherent technology foundation.

Project Kinetic shows how support for one critical mobile product expanded into a broader modernisation of legacy applications, commerce, shared operations, and the systems underneath them.

Chapter 1

Where they were

Kinetic had built a growing ecosystem of digital products serving both direct consumers and B2B2C partners. The products had gained strong market traction, but the technology supporting them had evolved unevenly.

At the same time, the company was preparing to launch a new content-led consumer product line for younger audiences and required an e-commerce platform capable of supporting product discovery, transactions, fulfilment, and future campaign activity.

Separate codebases, legacy dependencies, inconsistent development environments, fragmented administrative systems, and limited documentation made the wider ecosystem increasingly difficult to maintain. Product releases required significant coordination, recurring technical issues slowed development, and changes made within one platform could not be easily replicated across the ecosystem.

Kinetic needed a more stable and maintainable technology foundation that could support existing products, enable new commercial launches, improve release reliability, and accommodate future growth across its ecosystem.

Chapter 2

What we did

The engagement expanded from strengthening one customer-facing product to rebuilding the foundation and connections across Kinetic's wider digital ecosystem.

1

Starting with the product closest to the customer

Our relationship with Kinetic began with one of its most important mobile products: an on-demand emotional support platform serving both direct users and members accessing services through partner organisations.

The initial mandate was to strengthen the application at its most critical point: the user experience. We refined the core service journey, bringing greater consistency to how users discovered, accessed, scheduled, and paid for support across different plans and access models.

Behind the interface, the platform also required a more resilient technical backbone. We stabilised key workflows, improved coordination between frontend and backend systems, and strengthened the application's ability to manage complex session states reliably across iOS and Android.

The result was a more coherent and dependable product experience, supported by stronger underlying systems.

2

Building a new e-commerce foundation

Following the initial mobile engagement, Kinetic was preparing to introduce a new range of content-led consumer products and needed the digital infrastructure to bring them to market.

We developed a Shopify-backed commerce setup that connected the brand's existing digital experience with product discovery, cart, checkout, payments, shipping, and fulfilment workflows. The architecture was designed to support direct consumer purchases while remaining flexible enough for future products, campaigns, and partnership-led demand.

The work extended beyond enabling transactions. We also strengthened the surrounding customer journey, including product availability, campaign landing pages, analytics, and the connection between acquisition activity and completed purchases.

This gave Kinetic a commerce platform that could support the initial launch while providing a scalable foundation for future product expansion.

3

Expanding from individual products to the wider ecosystem

The success of the initial engagements opened the door to Kinetic's broader digital ecosystem.

As our role expanded, the focus shifted from improving individual products to understanding how the wider ecosystem operated. We assessed the systems supporting identity, access, payments, bookings, service delivery, commerce, and internal operations, identifying where independently developed platforms, duplicated logic, and disconnected workflows were creating unnecessary complexity.

What began with focused product assignments was becoming a broader technology transformation.

4

Moving from recurring issues to the root cause

As the engagement widened, a consistent pattern emerged across the ecosystem.

What initially appeared to be a series of separate product issues was rooted in a fragmented technical foundation. Different applications had evolved across multiple teams, codebases, and development practices, resulting in duplicated logic, incomplete integrations, inconsistent environments, and increasing difficulty around testing and releases.

Continuing to address each issue independently would have treated the symptoms while allowing the underlying complexity to grow.

The greater opportunity was to simplify the foundation itself, creating a more stable and maintainable base for the ecosystem as a whole.

5

Rebuilding for what came next

Rather than adding another layer of fixes to ageing systems, we helped Kinetic reset the technical foundation behind its key products.

We identified the workflows and business logic that needed to be preserved, then migrated the applications into cleaner, more maintainable structures. Disconnected journeys were restored, frontend and backend behaviour was aligned, and outdated implementation patterns were replaced with more reliable development, testing, and deployment practices.

The result was a stronger platform for launching new functionality, improving existing experiences, and scaling products without repeatedly inheriting the limitations of the legacy systems.

6

Bringing the products closer together

Once the core platforms were stabilised, the next opportunity was to connect the ecosystem operationally.

Kinetic's products had evolved with separate administrative tools, workflows, and reporting structures. We began consolidating these into a more unified layer, giving the team clearer oversight across users, subscriptions, bookings, payments, commerce activity, service delivery, and internal operations.

We also strengthened the connection between product usage and commercial performance, creating greater visibility across the full customer journey, from acquisition and registration to transactions, bookings, and ongoing engagement.

The result was a more coherent digital ecosystem, with individual products increasingly supported by shared visibility, connected operations, and a common underlying foundation.

Chapter 3

Where they are now

Kinetic now operates on a more coherent and scalable technology foundation across its digital ecosystem.

Its core mobile platform is more stable, easier to extend, and better equipped to support complex journeys across access, scheduling, payments, and service delivery. The wider wellness platform has also moved away from fragmented legacy systems toward a cleaner architecture designed to support both B2C and B2B2C models.

Kinetic now also has a Shopify-backed e-commerce platform for its consumer products. Product discovery, checkout, payments, shipping, campaign activity, and analytics are connected within a more seamless commercial journey, creating a stronger foundation for conversion and sales.

Across the ecosystem, previously disconnected products are operating with greater consistency. Improved integrations and a more unified administrative layer are giving the team clearer visibility across users, subscriptions, bookings, transactions, commerce activity, and platform operations.

This connected ecosystem gives Kinetic a stronger foundation for managing its products, services, users, and operations across the business. Its technology and data infrastructure continues to evolve through our ongoing engagement, with each phase helping shape the next stage of development, integration, and growth.

What ongoing implementation produces

Individual digital products became a more coherent and connected ecosystem.

This is what ongoing implementation is built for: stabilise the customer-facing journey, address the technical foundation, connect operations, and keep improving the ecosystem phase by phase.
